Given up already?

Can it be said that after the first Wheatear of the year it is all downhill? Of course not, but I did temporarily abandon the patch for some sunshine and some different birds. Variety is the spice of life, although I recommend you don't head to Florida if it's culture you're after. However if it's Herons and Waders, game on.


More, much more, to come in the following days, but I was remarkably productive in a very short space of time. Sleep, food, and personal hygiene were all deprioritised, and entirely minimal quantities of each sufficed. Lying in mud, sand and puddles, and seeing a shed load of amazing birds were however raised to the top of the agenda. And it was brilliant, as birding abroad always is.
