Brazil - The Amazon - June/July 2026 - Trip List

We saw a total of 367 species on the trip, pretty phenomenal. Of these just under 200 were lifers, and 242 were new for Brazil which has now overtaken the USA as the country where I've seen the most birds. Three guided trips is all it has taken, three weeks versus I don't know how many trips to America.

The eBird trip report can be found HERE. The trip list is below in the usual format, although this time I saved myself hours by getting CoPilot to do it, this AI stuff does have at least some benefits and I was amazed at how quickly it was able to put it together. It seems to add up, I'm sure someone will tell me if it doesn't.

Anyway it has been great fun reliving the trip, remembering the special birds and the fun times with Brad, Richard and Bob. This is why I write them really. We are already in discussion with Brad about a trip to the north east, probably the year after next, which will no doubt come around quicker than we all expect. I now can have a bit of a break and get back to more mundane things, stupid observations, a new camera, and a some Scilly Pelacics.
