I belong to a couple of birding groups who do a lot of their birding walks during the week. Nice for some! Also - it's not just about seeing...there is also "enjoying". Blue tits and long tailed tits will always be nice never mind how often you see themwembleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09375244586732309756noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7054885544428581277.post-9931953851490088152022-01-25T10:06:49.664+00:002022-01-25T10:06:49.664+00:00I think every single one of us feels like you to s...I think every single one of us feels like you to some degree Jonathan. You have bogged yourself down with info, so it would take two of you to see everything! Get rid of Birdguides for a start. You aren't going to twitch stuff miles away so why bother. As you say, you always find out about those biggies on Twitter anyway. I no longer have a pager. I rely on our county Whats App group that has two channels ( rare and scarce plus common and chat). I could do without the latter channelreally but have not gotten around to dumping it. So that leaves me with one good info source plus the socials.

Mind you, they are all still bloody irritating when I am stuck here at work...Stewarthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01985665182124985194noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7054885544428581277.post-33562452600690662192022-01-24T19:11:50.675+00:002022-01-24T19:11:50.675+00:00An interesting post, Jono. Are you controlling the technology or is it controlling you? Is it adversely changing how you behave, making you anxious etc, rather than being an asset? Of course, this doesn't just apply to birding. Maybe you should try taking a break from social media. You might find you miss it less than you thought you would. I don't "do" any social media, although I do subscribe to Bird Guides. But even then, I don't receive any notifications of sightings. I log in as and I when I feel like it. Again, it's all about retaining control.

Malcolm
MalRhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13677360591428468754noreply@blogger.com
